Application: When a magnetic field is applied perpendicular to a conducting or semiconducting sample through which an electric current is flowing, a transverse voltage is developed known as the Hall voltage. By measuring the Hall voltage, the system can determine key electrical properties of materials, such as carrier concentration, carrier type (electron or hole), and mobility. These measurements are critical in the characterization of semiconductors and electronic materials, and they provide both qualitative and quantitative insights into the electrical behaviour of the sample under study.
