Description
Gas chromatography–mass spectrometry (GC–MS) is an analytical technique that combines gas chromatography and mass spectrometry to identify and quantify organic compounds in a mixture. Gas chromatography (GC) separates compounds based on volatility and their interaction with the stationary phase. Mass spectrometry (MS) then identifies and measures each separated compound by its mass-to-charge ratio after ionization. GC–MS is widely used in pharmaceuticals, agriculture, food and beverages, flavor and fragrance analysis, and environmental testing. Instrument Specifications (GC–MS) Model: QP 2010 Ultra Detectors: GC–MS, GC–TCD, GC–FID Ionization: Electron Ionization (EI) Carrier Gas: Helium Sample Quantity: 20 mg Sample Type: Gas, liquid, or solid Solid Requirement: Soluble in organic solvent Molecular Weight Range: 45–1040 Library: NIST library attached Injection: Direct injection available GC Column Temperature: RT to 320 °C
